Celebrity style: Rihanna's Red Dress

The body con dress is everywhere at the moment. Whether you wear yours slinky and sexy or throw it on with a parka, it always looks great.

Red dress and nude clutch - New Look / Gold spike earrings and chain bracelet - Asos / Nude spike heels - Zara / White nail polish - Essie

Now that summer is getting closer (fingers crossed!), the little red dress can really come into it’s own as a standout part of an outfit.

I love the way that Rihanna wears it and took inspiration from her to style my first ever collage for the blog! I love the idea of letting the dress do the talking and take centre stage, pairing it with simple accessories for a really simple and elegant look.

What do you think of my summer red dress outfit?

#BrumBloggerMeet – Saturday 20th April

Last Saturday Chloe from Unwritten Hollywood, Hayley from Strangeness and Charm and Sarah from Pretty in Pink organised the #brumbloggermeet and I was lucky enough to get an invite!

We met up in Starbucks and I’m sure the staff were overwhelmed to see a group of over thirty girls swarming in!  Here we got to say hello, meet everyone and chip in for presents for our wonderful organisers. A few girls headed out shopping before meeting back at Selfridges for a talk and tour of the fashion on Level 2. From here we got some free time to go shopping and headed over to the Mac counter and Mac pro store and got some bubble tea from Moo Cha.

Sadly I had to leave the girls here to go to work whilst they went to Bar Room Bar for food, drink, quizzes and a talk from John Lewis and Bohdi UK. I was so gutted to miss it but I did meet up with them afterwards quickly.

You should definitely check out Hayley’s post for her vlog featuring Bubble Tea.

Monday Manicure: Revlon Plum Nights NOTD

Revlon Nail Enamel Plum Night 799

Today’s Nail of the Day is brought to you by Revlon. I don’t own many Revlon nail polishes but I have to say I’m in love with their pink glitter shade ‘Sparkling’. I picked this one up for a bargainous pound at Poundland whereas it's on sale at Superdrug for £6.49 and would definitely recommend that you guys head to your nearest. When I was in there last week I saw three Collection 2000 Hot Looks polishes being sold for a pound!

I digress. I love the colour of this polish, it makes such a change from black which is what I’d usually go for if I wanted to wear something darker and is more subdued than my favourite reds, pinks and corals.

The brush is a great fan shape that makes application easy, and after two coats it had a really glossy finish. It also lasted just under a week before chipping, bonus.

Neon jewellery and a buckle up bangle

Neon yellow earrings / Silver belt buckle bangle / Neon pink earrings / All H&M

Guess what time it is? It’s jewellery haul time! I keep doing this, running into the high street and running back out with armfuls of jewellery. I don’t know what it is but I just keep buying jewellery! Maybe it’s because everyone knows jewellery is the quickest and easiest way to liven up an outfit. Or perhaps it’s because jewellery always fits.

Anyway, I’ll start off with my favourites. This little lot from H&M have been an absolute outfit saviour. I love neon jewellery and already have the matching pink fluoro necklace. The yellow and pink fluoro earrings are so fun and great for doing colour clash or against a plain grey t shirt (one of my favourite looks that I’ll be wearing with printed trousers this summer).

The silver buckle bangle is a concession to my lust for this Mulberry bangle. In the absence of funds, this little number will have to do.

Peacock Scarf - Matalan / Triangle ring, jade necklace, peace necklace - Dorothy Perkins / Black stone ring and gold star necklace - Primark

The next bunch are something of an odd assortment of pieces. This peacock scarf is so reminiscent of Matthew Williamson but was from Matalan. The rest of the jewellery includes a lucky jade necklace, a gold triangle ring and a double layered chain necklace from Dorothy Perkins. The star necklace and oversized black stone ring are from Primark, my favourite place for a pick me up.

Do any of you guys rely on jewellery for a fast fashion hit?

May 2013 Magazine Freebies

It’s another bumper month for magazine freebies guys! I love trying out new products and brands this way and I’ll happily rush to the shops to get hold of my favourite products before they all sell out.

This month Red magazine have teamed up with Aromatherapy Associates, a brand I’ve never used before, to offer 3 great products from their Rose range. I picked up the Hydrating Rose Face Mask and there was also a cleanser and moisturiser on offer for just £4 each when they’re worth over £50 altogether!

Next up Grazia has a voucher for a free Kiehls product inside the Cara Delevinge issue to redeem at your nearest Kiehls. The products on offer are Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque, Creme de Corps Body Moisturiser and Actively Correcting and Beautifing BB Cream SPF50.

Cosmopolitan is offering a free Phil Smith Be Gorgeous Total Treat Argan Oil Hair Transforming Cream with this month's issue worth £5.50.

Marie Claire is also offering a free Ciate nail polish in either metallic gold or a nude colour as well as a bonus tube of Jergens.

I’m pretty sure there’s some more out there at the moment, I think I saw that InStyle had a Cowshed product too.

Have you guys spotted any other great freebies this month?
