April 2015 UK Magazine Freebies ft Marie Claire, Glamour, Balance Me and Nails Inc

If you're out shopping this weekend then I have to tell you about these fantastic magazine freebies I picked up this week.

Firstly, UK Marie Claire is giving away a Nails Inc Nail Polish with the April issue which costs £3.99. It comes in a choice of 4 shades, Fiesta (red/pink) , Fashion, Fizz (pastel brown) and Festival (pastel pink with a grey undertone) and I picked up Fashion, a gorgeous pastel dove grey colour.

In the bottle it looks like it has a purple undertone but when on it looks more blue or lavender. I even did a NOTD for you!

I love this colour and was so impressed with the formula. It went on smoothly, was fully opaque at one coat and even better, no need for a top coat as it didn't chip in 4 days.

Shall I go back for the other 3 colours?!

Next up is Glamour magazine. This month they are giving away products from Balance Me, one of my favourite brands as it is 100% natural. I actually bought 2 copies as Glamour is just £2 so I picked up the Balance Me Shine On Tinted Lip Salve in Sheer Red and Balance Me Super Moisturising Body Wash. There is also a Pure Skin Face Wash and Radiance Face Mask available.

So what are you waiting for? Head to your newsagents ASAP!

Monday Manicure Nails Inc Bluebell & Models Own Blizzard

Models Own Blizzard available here

Nails Inc Bluebell

It's two for the price of one on today's NOTD!

I wanted to try out Models Own Blizzard* and paired it with this special edition polish from Nails Inc for InStyle called Bluebell.

It's such a beautiful colour it's a shame they didn't add it to the mainline, but looking on the net it looks similar to Models Own Blueberry Muffin and Beth's Blue, Revlon Charming, Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream and Essie Lapis of Luxury, although none of them seem to match the incredible violet undertones of this polish.

I used three coats to get a very full coverage although you could get away with two. The colour is more than just a pastel, baby blue colour. It's really a purple blue, with lilac/lavender/purple tones, dries really quickly, and wears really well with a topcoat.

Models Own Blizzard is a very densely packed, highly reflective silver hexagonal sequins and tiny silver specks. It is very thick but that means that one coat gives you the freedom to move the polish around on your finger to get the right look.

I love this colour combination too, somehow reminds me of winter, snowflakes and Mr Frosty!

Keep your eyes peeled for reviews of the rest of the Models Own trio :)

Monday Manicure: Nails Inc St James

Nails Inc St James available here

St James is a colour I've had in my collection for quite some time but I've never actually shown it to you guys. Although it's described on the Nails Inc website as a pillarbox red, I think you'll agree that there is far too much pink in this shade to really call it that. I have however seen other bloggers say that with three coats it turns out a lot more red so definitely worth a try.

As always, I used a base coat and two coats of colour to get this look. The application on Nails Inc is usually really good and this one didn't disappoint. Easy to apply with a nice shiny finish, what's not to love? I love this colour as an alternative to a traditional red and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a lighter red for summer.

What do you guys think?

Manicure Monday: Nails Inc Nail Polish Porchester Square

Nails Inc Nail Polish Porchester Square available from here

See that Hero Shade sticker on the bottle? Yep, you’d better believe it. Porchester Square is one of those colours that had everyone raving when it first came out, and quite rightly so. This is quite simply the perfect mushroom shade for me.  The others I’ve tried have left me looking a but corpse like but this one has just enough lavender in it to suit most skin tones.

Like all Nails Inc polishes, I used two coats to get this finish and I personally love the application and formula. It also has a naturally glossy finish that I adore. A mushroomy shade makes a change from a nude beige and is just that little bit more interesting. Get it or regret it!

Monday Manicure: Nails Inc St James NOTD

After bulk buying December's Glamour (see this post) I started trying out the nail polishes immediately. (patience is not my thing).

First up is St James by Nails Inc. Although it's the first one I've tried, this is definitely my favourite shade of the four I picked up already and a contender for holy grail status as my favourite red shade.

In the picture it's come out really pink, but it's not! It's actually a true pillarbox red as you can see from the picture taken from the Nails Inc website below.

As with most Nails Inc polishes, it goes on smoothly and lasts around 5 days without a topcoat before it looks tatty. I used 2 coats, as always!

Is it just me or are you guys always on the lookout for that perfect red nail polish too?

Glamour Magazine and Nails Inc Freebies December 2012

Oh hello fabulous freebie! Glamour has teamed up with Nails Inc once again and brought us four full sized bottles of Nails Inc polish for just £2 a bottle. With an RRP of £11, I bought all four bottles, it would be rude not to.

The colours are Motcomb Street, Elizabeth Street, St James and Glamour Glitter.

Motcomb Street looks black in the bottle, but it actually comes out a dark green colour, very similar in fact to the Barry M Gelly Nail Effects polish in Watermelon. Elizabeth Street is a translucent ballet - pink colour which can be layered for an opaque finish. St James is a stunning true pillarbox red colour that may well become my go to red, whilst the Glamour Glitter is a special edition clear micro glitter topcoat in gold.

Inside the magazine there are so may freebies too! There’s a one use sample of Thierry Mugler Angel Eau De Parfum and Elie Saab Le Parfum, Rimmel BB Cream Sample, Nivea Express Hydration Primer and Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 foundation.

And all for £2!!!

Thank you Glamour!
