OOTD: Denim shirt and leather skirt ft NOWSEEN Jewellery

Hello and apologies for going AWOL guys! I've been away on holiday and not stopped since I came back but I have managed to squeeze in a OOTD and jewellery review of the Black Onyx Boxed Ring from Nowseen.

Denim shirt - Primark // Faux Leather Skirt - Select // Leather Loafers - Bertie

Browsing through my wardrobe lately, besides noticing that all my clothes are black, I also noticed that there are two fabrics that I wear constantly. The first is denim; whether it's a denim shirt, jacket, skirt or pair of jeans, I have a lot of denim. The second is leather. Granted, I should really refer to it as pleather as it is leather look or vegetarian leather as some would call it, leather looks good whether it's a jacket, skirt, pair of trousers or of course shoes or bag.

Here is a timeless outfit that works well regardless of the weather. In winter, just add tights and black boots. In summer, swap the denim shirt for a grey t shirt and wear the denim shirt as a jacket or around your waist.

I've also been reviewing the Black Onyx Boxed Ring from Nowseen and have decided to do the big reveal on here! Nowseen has a great selection of affordable jewellery pieces made from pricious metals and precious/semi precious stones. I picked out this beautiful boxed ring because it is a stunning statement piece that is unlike anything I've seen before. Made of gold plated sterling silver, this ring is bold without being chunky, comfortable to wear and the black stone means it's a versatile piece. I have been browsing the rest of the site and I adore lots of the jewellery on there such as the Diamond Trophy Ring so it's definitely worth taking a look. Although it's more expensive than some pieces of costumer jewellery the prices are great considering the quality of the materials used.

OOTD: Oversized Denim Shirt and Nikes

I very rarely post on fashion, but I love this outfit so much I had to post it. With the weather as it is, layers are essential, and I love putting on an outfit that feels super comfortable for days off.

Here it is:

Outfit details: Denim Shirt - Topshop // Grey top - New Look // Grey Jeans - Topshop // Trainers - Nike

An Oasis Outfit with a touch of Kim K

It's been a while since I did an outfit post so sorry this is long overdue! Here's a really simple outfit I styled from Oasis that I wore for a meal and drinks out with the girls.

Blue shirt // Oasis // Black leather effect skirt // Oasis // Black kitten heel pointed courts // Marks and Spencer // Gold lion chain necklace // New Look

Apologies for the lack of accessory close ups and weird lighting but we were running late as it was so this is all we managed to get before the obligatory 'where are you?' text...

As it happens, the clothes are all from Oasis, the shoes are from Marks and Spencer and necklace is New Look. Shame you can't see the necklace as it's a chunky gold chain with lion discs!

The whole outfit feels a little Kim Kardashian to me, mainly due to the tight leather effect pencil skirt, but I love it with this loose blue blouse and think it would look equally great styled down with a casual jumper.

Chanel style boucle jacket

Timeless chic - Chanel style jacket / Miso at Republic

As far as the ultimate wishlist goes, a classic Chanel boucle jacket has got to be top of most girls list.

Not content with creating the coveted 2.55 and Classic handbags, as well as the very first Little Black Dress, Chanel made the boucle jacket a must have along with a string of pearls and a striped fisherman's top.

If you’re not sitting on a small fortune, then you might be surprised at what the High Street has to offer by way of Chanel-alike jackets. This cream number comes to you courtesy of Miso at Republic. I’ve had quite a few compliments and a lot of people asking if it came from Karen Millen or Oasis, proving that there are a lot of similar pieces out there.

It's so versatile and is a great alternative to a black leather jacket or blazer in winter or the denim jacket in summer; so much smarter!

Do you have any Chanel inspired pieces in your wardrobe?

Harvey Nichols Birmingham Spring / Summer 2013 Fashion Show

A few weeks ago I went along to the Harvey Nichols fashion show at The Mailbox Birmingham to see what first hand what we’ll all be wearing once the weather warms up. It was a freezing evening (it snowed later on) but we bravely tottered along in out highest heels and most stylish of dresses.

The fashion show itself was held in the Old Post Office. For those of you that don’t know, The Mailbox used to be a Royal Mail sorting office. The room we were in used to be the main sorting office (I think!) but was put to good use.

I didn’t take many pictures of the models themselves so I’ve borrowed the first two from the lovely Rachel from Pretty Petticoats.

The show was really professional and featured Jade Thompson from Britain's Next Top Model and 6 trends, Palette Cleanser (White), Colour Pop, Foil, Mixed Print, Monochrome and Fantasy Frock and brands such as Philip Armstrong, Phillip Lim, Alice + Olivia, Finders Keepers, McQueen and more.

After the actual show we all headed over to Harvey Nichols for canapés courtesy of Hotel La Tour, champagne and an Easter Egg hunt. We also got 15% off our purchases but I thankfully managed to resist! Afterwards we headed over to Marco Pierre Whites for more bubbles.

I somehow missed Rachel but I did bump into Fashion Mommy, EmilyJayne, Amy PYT, Wardrobe Mag and The Style Floozie. Lovely to see you all girls!
