OOTD: Grey jumper and a bomber jacket

How to keep cosy and stay stylish? That's a good question. Without the LA weather, it's hard to style up an outfit when inevitably you'll have to throw a coat and scarf over it.

This outfit manages to be warm, stylish and pretty comfortable too. The secret weapon here is the roll neck jumper; no scarf required!

The jumper has been my absolute saviour this winter and kept me so cosy, whilst the jacket is great for days off and to wear casually.

I've only just realised that I've paired a pair of Nike trainers with a Prada bag, how's that for Sports Luxe!

New Year's Eve 2015- Don't forget to shimmer!

After all the excess of Christmas, it's time for one last party before it's back to reality.

I've put together a shimmering outfit which would be perfect for a New Year's party.

The shoes are Valentino Rockstuds available here. I adore these and they were the most expensive part of the outfit. The skirt is from Oasis but has since sold out, sorry!

As for accessories, a smart black clutch such as this one from Whistles keeps it minimal, and you could even add silver mirrored sunglasses.

A gem necklace is the finishing touch, along with a manicure of course.

Wishing you all a fabulous New Year, see you in 2016!

OOTD: Cut Out Shoulder Dress

Can you tell I'm feeling purple this season? For daytime, earthy colours are great but I am loving purple for the evening's.

Here is a quick OOTD for you featuring another purple dress, but this time with cutout sleeve details. I've kept it super simple and added my favourite marble necklace and some strappy tan sandals. The dress is current from Primark and the sandals are past season Primark.

How disco!

OOTD: Seventies Glam and Tan Basics

Although it’s a rare thing to see an OOTD on here, I am loving the 70’s trend at the moment and have purchased a whole new wardrobe in true seventies style ready for AW15. But don’t worry guys, most of my new pieces came from Primark so they didn’t break the bank, and I’m hoping to do at least one
more outfit post on my haul.

Here’s my take on 70’s Glam courtesy mainly of Primark J

The wide sleeves on this dress are so glam and I love the little piece of gold on the neckline. I’ve really gone to town on this outfit and dressed it up but you could of course wear it with flats for something a little simpler.

The accessories are great neutrals that you could wear with lots of outfits but here I like the way they’ve added glam without being over the top (this is a sparkle free zone!)

How do you feel about the 70’s trend? Love it or loathe it?

Thank you to Helen from Positive Fridays for taking the outfit pictures for me!

Event: Style Birmingham 2015 Preview - 26-27th September

Style Birmingham is top of the list for every girl worth her fashion salt in these parts. Heck, fashion fabulous girls and boys flock from far and wide to attend the event and it was sorely missed last year.

OOTD: Black Shirt Dress - F&F / Floppy Tan Hat - Warehouse / Suede Tassle Boots - Kooples

Coat - Primark

This year, however, Style Birmingham is back and I have all the details for you.

In case you didn't already know, Style Birmingham is a weekend of fashion, shopping and beauty hosted in the city centre. One of the highlights is the fashion show where gorgeous boys and girls strut their stuff and show us what we'll all be wearing this season.

First of all, Mark Wright of TOWIE fame will be presenting the event with support from celebrity stylist Mark Heyes, best known for his regular slots on morning TV, who will be handing out fashion tips.

Tickets this year are all the same so everyone is a VIP! That means everyone will get a complimentary goody bag, drink, instore offers for Style visitors and access to the Backstage Beauty area too.

The venue this year is Birmingham Museum's Gas Hall. A beautiful building, this is where the Style Birmingham Preview was held and I went along with Rachel from to check it out.

The preview event was an opportunity to meet some of the sponsors and get all the details on this year's show.  There were makeovers from Make Up For Ever and hair demos from Francesco Group as well as a tour of the Gas Hall which will be transformed into The Fashion Theatre showcasing AW15 styles and collections from high street retailers.

The shows will be hosted by Mark Wright (here's hoping Michelle makes an appearance!) and Mark Heyes will be on hand for fashion advice. There are six shows at the weekend (11am, 1pm and 3pm each day) and they are always spectacular. Nails Inc, Bobbi Brown, House of Fraser, Marks & Spencer, and retailers from Bullring including Cos, Radley, Warehouse, Coast, Reiss, Karen Millen, New Look, Jones Bootmaker, Debenhams and Lipsy are all getting involved too.

For all you beauty fanatics out there, there are also make up masterclasses taking place at House of Fraser hosted by  Pro Artist, Amy Conway, who trained with Bobbi herself, at 12.15pm, 2.15pm and 4.15pm on both days.

Tickets cost £15 and are available from  www.stylebirminghamlive.co.uk. Are you going?

OOTD: Denim shirt and leather skirt ft NOWSEEN Jewellery

Hello and apologies for going AWOL guys! I've been away on holiday and not stopped since I came back but I have managed to squeeze in a OOTD and jewellery review of the Black Onyx Boxed Ring from Nowseen.

Denim shirt - Primark // Faux Leather Skirt - Select // Leather Loafers - Bertie

Browsing through my wardrobe lately, besides noticing that all my clothes are black, I also noticed that there are two fabrics that I wear constantly. The first is denim; whether it's a denim shirt, jacket, skirt or pair of jeans, I have a lot of denim. The second is leather. Granted, I should really refer to it as pleather as it is leather look or vegetarian leather as some would call it, leather looks good whether it's a jacket, skirt, pair of trousers or of course shoes or bag.

Here is a timeless outfit that works well regardless of the weather. In winter, just add tights and black boots. In summer, swap the denim shirt for a grey t shirt and wear the denim shirt as a jacket or around your waist.

I've also been reviewing the Black Onyx Boxed Ring from Nowseen and have decided to do the big reveal on here! Nowseen has a great selection of affordable jewellery pieces made from pricious metals and precious/semi precious stones. I picked out this beautiful boxed ring because it is a stunning statement piece that is unlike anything I've seen before. Made of gold plated sterling silver, this ring is bold without being chunky, comfortable to wear and the black stone means it's a versatile piece. I have been browsing the rest of the site and I adore lots of the jewellery on there such as the Diamond Trophy Ring so it's definitely worth taking a look. Although it's more expensive than some pieces of costumer jewellery the prices are great considering the quality of the materials used.

OOTD: Oversized Denim Shirt and Nikes

I very rarely post on fashion, but I love this outfit so much I had to post it. With the weather as it is, layers are essential, and I love putting on an outfit that feels super comfortable for days off.

Here it is:

Event: Merry Hill SS15 Fashion Preview

My outfit for the evening - Coat and T Shirt - New Look / Jeans - Matalan / Shoes - Primark / Bag -Mulberry

We're at that awkward time of year between seasons, and although we're ready to let go of AW15, we may still be deciding what to wear for SS15.

Help was at hand at Intu Merry Hill shopping centre when they recently hosted a Spring Summer catwalk on the 28th and 29th March. Luckily, I was able to catch a glimpse of the latest looks at a special fashion preview event along with some fellow bloggers.

Hosted in a secret room inside the centre, we made our way into a hidden room to find a bloggers paradise including a photobooth, cupcakes, canapes, champagne....and a catwalk!

Here are some of the pictures taken by Cotswold Allure:

Flanked by mannequins dressed head to toe in looks from some of the high street's best stores, we were treated to a look at SS15 as interpreted by River Island, New Look, Oasis and more.

With everyone perched delicately on front row seats (they know how to make us feel like VIP's!), we watched key looks from 10 retailers strut down the catwalk on the backs of some very glam models.

Styled by Lola Royle, here's a (picture heavy) rundown of what to expect this season:

Floral Dress and Bright Blazer

Clashing Floral Prints

Tropical Print Co - ord

Phase Eight

Pretty Floral Shift

Tailored Separates

I felt so inspired by the event that I went ahead and styled up an outfit for SS15 based on the denim and 1970's trend.

Now that you've seen some key looks for SS15, what will you be wearing this season?
